  Introduction

  Dear Readers,

  * * *

Welcome to the Suspenseful Seduction World!

The author of this book has borrowed (with my permission) one or more of my characters from the Trident Security series and/or the Doms of The Covenant series. Some are minor characters who are now getting their own story, thanks to the authors writing in my world, while others are major characters who are being mentioned to connect the story to my series. This book, and others like it, is being published through Suspenseful Seduction Publishing with a contractual agreement between myself and the author.

While I may have provided some suggestions for including my characters in the storyline, this book is the sole work of the author who wrote it. I was not involved in the writing or editing process, however, several Beta Readers familiar with my characters helped review the final product. While the BDSM lifestyle is included in most of the books in my series, it may or may not be included in the SSW authors’ storylines.

If you’re not familiar with my series, I’ve included a brief history of Trident Security and The Covenant, along with a Who’s Who of current (at the time this book was published) major characters in both series.

I’m honored so many authors loved my characters and series that they wanted to include them in their stories.

Thank you for supporting the author and me, and I hope you enjoy this extension of my Trident Security and/or Doms of The Covenant series.

Who’s Who and the History of Trident Security and The Covenant

***While not every character is in every book, these are the ones with the most mentions throughout the series. This guide will help keep readers straight about who’s who.

Trident Security (TS) is a private investigative and military agency, co-owned by Ian and Devon Sawyer. With governmental and civilian contracts, the company got its start when the brothers and a few of their teammates from SEAL Team Four retired to the private sector. The original six-man team is referred to as the Sexy Six-Pack, as they were dubbed by Kristen Sawyer, née Anders, or the Alpha Team. Trident had since expanded and former members of the military and law enforcement have been added to the staff. The company is located on a guarded compound, which was a former import/export company cover for a drug trafficking operation in Tampa, Florida. Three warehouses on the property were converted into large apartments, the TS offices, gym, and bunk rooms. There is also an obstacle course, a Main Street shooting gallery, a helicopter pad, and more features necessary for training and missions.

In addition to the security business, there is a fourth warehouse that now houses an elite BDSM club, co-owned by Devon, Ian, and their cousin, Mitch Sawyer, who is the manager. A lot of time and money has gone into making The Covenant the most sought after membership in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area and beyond. Members are thoroughly vetted before being granted access to the elegant club.

There are currently over fifty Doms who have been appointed Dungeon Masters (DMs), and they rotate two or three shifts each throughout the month. At least four DMs are on duty at all times at various posts in the pit, playrooms, and the new garden, with an additional one roaming around. Their job is to ensure the safety of all the submissives in the club. They step in if a sub uses their safeword and the Dom in the scene doesn’t hear or heed it, and make sure the equipment used in scenes isn’t harming the subs.

The Covenant’s security team takes care of everything else that isn’t scene-related, and provides safety for all members and are essentially the bouncers. With the recent addition of the garden, and more private, themed rooms, the owners have expanded their self-imposed limit of 350 members. The fire marshal had approved them for 500 when the warehouse-turned-kink club first opened, but the cousins had intentionally kept that number down to maintain an elite status. Now with more room, they are increasing the membership to 500, still under the new maximum occupancy of 720.

Between Trident Security and The Covenant there’s plenty of romance, suspense, and steamy encounters. Come meet the Sexy Six-Pack, their friends, family, and teammates.

To my sixth grade teacher, Mrs. Ervin, who instilled in me a love of books. I look at those days of listening to you reading Where the Red Fern Grows as I rested my head on my desk, and how you brought the story of Billy, Little Ann, and Old Dan to life, as the beginning of my journey to this point.

  So, thank you!

  Prologue

  “So…”

Law Michaelson glanced toward Max Fairchild’s hesitant tone as he hung up his phone and relaxed back into his leather executive chair. It had taken him almost six months, but he’d finally secured an acceptance—albeit a reluctant one—from the shifter he needed in place as Florida’s Alpha Regent.

“So?” Law raised a brow at his Beta Prime sitting in the visitor’s chair on the other side of his desk.

  “Rafe Navarro.”

Law narrowed his gaze and nodded as the other man straightened his massive frame from his slumped position.

“Of course I’m not questioning your decision,” Max said, leaning forward. “But Alpha Prime—”

“Alpha Prime?” Law scowled at his second and the man he considered his best friend. “It’s just you and me here, Max, so cut the shit.” And then he said on a low growl, “Just tread carefully.”

“You know the man has a lot on his plate right now—what with his nephew and all.” Max shook his head. “So, do you think strong-arming him was such a good idea?”

  “I wouldn’t call it strong-arming.”

Max let out a loud, derisive snort. “Right. It only took you six months and constant badgering to get the man to agree.”

It was a good thing for the bear shifter Law thought of him like a brother. Otherwise he might have shown him some real strong-arming.

“Anyhow, he’s gonna face some alpha challenges over this. Gordon included.”

“Haven’t we all.” Law shrugged away the slight discomfort in his left shoulder from his latest battle against another wolf shifter. The wounds from his previous challenges had barely healed before he’d faced this recent Regional Elder-sanctioned alpha challenge.

“But yes,” he said, relaxing back into his leather executive chair. “It’s not just a good decision. It’s the right decision. Rafe has what I need to govern over the state as Alpha Regent.” He gave Max a knowing look. “Besides, I know I can trust him.”

Max huffed out a laugh. “Oh, you mean you don’t trust Gordon?”

  “You’re funny.”

“I know,” Max said with a smirk and then sat back in his seat. “So, when’re you going to talk to him about Llewellyn?”

Law grimaced. Edward Llewellyn, the previous Alpha Prime over the Southeastern Alliance of Shifters, had a lot to answer for. And with Gordon and those in his sphere
being cronies of the now-missing Llewellyn, he had serious doubts he’d have found the cougar shifter any help in the search for their former leader. Hell, for all Law knew, Gordon could be in on the embezzling of millions from the Alliance, along with helping Llewellyn and his family disappear while they vacationed near Tampa.

“I’ve given him some basics, but I’m not throwing the brunt of that on him. As you said, the man has a lot on his plate already and he’s about to have a bunch more piled on top of it.” He narrowed his gaze. “But I do want Rafe in place as soon as possible. That’s why we’re flying down tomorrow to take care of the legalities of his appointment and—”

  “To oversee the challenge?”

“Yes.” Law had no doubt Rafe would best the soon-to-be former Alpha Regent. Gordon was at heart a coward—and weak. He was also the last holdover of Alpha Regents to be replaced. Bastard had been pretty cocky too, obviously thinking Law was stuck with him.

Law held back a grin. Gordon was in for a rude awakening, especially once he faced Rafe in the arena. Law had no worries where Rafe was concerned. The panther shifter was not only a strong alpha in his own right, but he had the added skills from his years as a SEAL and then more on one of several National Alliance-sanctioned special operations teams of shifters working for the government.
